That is right…the clock on Launch day is ticking. We are almost there, of course there is still some pre-launch day preparation to still do but all in all we are nearing the day when we will send “Lacey”, “George’s” little sister into near-space along with a data collecting flight computer, cameras, a SPOT GPS tracker and smartphone for tracking back up.
The kids aren’t yet showing the excitement but as we near I will fully expect to see signs of excitement. On the other hand I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was super excited. So, I must say that I am super excited to send off this package via helium-filled balloon to space. Though, I honestly think that I am more excited about the data (50000+ pieces including temperature, latitude/longitude, barometric pressure, speed, altitude and heading) that will be collected and what we will be able to do with it once everything has arrived back here on earth.
